Fieldwork

The activities run at the centre have been creatively designed to stimulate the mind using fun and interactive games, which encourage learning at all levels. The natural enthusiasm of the staff along with their extensive knowledge makes the day a truly unique and enjoyable experience.

Your visit can be either half a day or a full day and the length of the activities can be adjusted to fit your needs. When booking, discuss with us which activities you would prefer and any modifications we can provide.

All specialist material and equipment, such as nets and buckets are supplied by the Trust and there are follow up ideas and materials available for use in the classroom.

Equipment

Suitable footwear must be worn. Wellington boots are ideal, beach sandals are not recommended. The rangers provide containers, nets and other equipment for all activities.

Lunchtime

There is a large park behind the centre with an enclosed area where dogs are prohibited which is ideal for picnics, or the beach is just a stone’s throw away. Litter bins are available. The centre has a beautiful walled garden with two picnic tables. Unfortunately there are no water fountains so please ensure children bring a drink with their pack lunch. If the weather is not suitable for a picnic, lunch can be taken inside the centre.

During lunchtime, supervision of the children is the responsibility of the group leaders.
